Handi-Ramp is committed to providing exceptional customer service by delivering personalized, high-quality and cost efficient solutions to meet the needs of our clients. We strive to exceed the requests of our customers by going above and beyond what is asked to ensure every detail is to your specifications.
Looking at the big picture and creating a solution specific to the individual project is what Handi-Ramp does best. Ultimately we wish to establish and maintain a long-term relationship with every customer built on respect, confidence and mutual trust.
Since 1958, Handi-Ramp has been manufacturing ramps for wheelchairs.
Following the death of its founder, the company was on the brink of bankruptcy by 1995. When Thom Disch, President and CEO took over, he recognized the growth opportunity presented by the legal requirements of The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) which had been enacted in 1991, and the prospective demand from the needs of the aging of the baby boomer generation.
Disch took Handi-Ramp and created a solutions company. Handi-Ramp is the oldest manufacturer of ramps in the world and the only company that custom manufacturers any product to suit our customer's needs using materials fabricated in the United States.
To serve our customers and the community better Handi-Ramp created the Home Access Program (www.homeaccessprogram.org) in September 2006. Designed to assist individuals, families, and businesses in their quest for accessible properties and services is the premise of the program.
The process of buying and/or modifying a home should not be as difficult as it is, said Thom Disch, Handi-Ramp President and CEO.
Disch envisioned a nationwide program that would put resources at the finger tips of individuals and families in order to make the process simple and pain free.
Since its inception the Home Access Program has hit the ground running adding new resources each month including member databases, daily ADA news, a monthly newsletter, accessible home listings and links to disability resources.
Funding is a major concern and barrier for many individuals. Handi-Ramp's non-for-profit organization, The Handi-Ramp Foundation (www.handirampfoundation.org) works to provide funding assisting qualified candidates in their purchase of accessibility equipment.
